Intercultural socialization and self-confidence development for children
Our volunteers are excited to announce the start of the new Solidarity project for Children implemented under the European Solidarity Corps.
About the project
Children are an amazing source of Inspiration for our team. Thus one more project has been initiated to contribute to the social and emotional development of children in our neighborhood.
This initiative aims to bring together young children with different socio-cultural backgrounds and help them discover and experience different countries and cultures through fun, interactive non-formal activities.
Within the frames of this beautiful initiative, the volunteers will develop and implement 10 workshops that will aim to introduce different countries, their cultural and scientific heritage, and inputs into the development of humanity.
Participation is FREE OF CHARGE.
The workshops are in Dutch language and will take place in Buurtkamer Keizer Karelpark (Lindenlaan 75, 1185 LC Amstelveen).
Target Group
The project Cultural Adventures for Kids will bring new opportunities to the Dutch and international community of Amstelveen as the target group of this initiative is Dutch and international children 5-7 years old living in the Amstelveen area who have no or limited contact with the international community.
The first 15 applicants meeting the requirements of the project will be selected to attend all the workshops organized within the frames of our project. The others will be included in our waiting list and invited to join one/several workshops in case of an available place (for example an absent child, the possibility to invite additional children, etc.).

Introduction workshop :)
The Cultural Adventures for Kids project has kicked off its exciting journey of imaginary travels around the world! Throughout 10 workshops this year, our young explorers will dive into different cultures, discover fascinating destinations, and create their very own travel journals.
In our first workshop, titled Introduction, the kids introduced their home countries, took part in fun teambuilding activities, and crafted essential travel items, including their own globes and passports.

The Cultural Adventures for Kids project is part of the European Solidarity Corps and is implemented by the volunteers of the Solidarity Bridge Foundation at Buurtkamer Keizer Karelpark.
The Netherlands
The imaginary plane of the Cultural Adventures for Kids project has landed in The Netherlands! For our second workshop, the young volunteers of our Solidarity project selected this fascinating destination as the first stop on our cultural journey.
The international kids involved in our project had a blast exploring Dutch culture through fun activities, crafts, and games. They tasted some of their favorite Dutch foods, painted their own Delft plates, and enjoyed many other exciting experiences!
Not only the kids but also our international volunteers had the chance to learn more about the Netherlands while preparing the activities for this workshop.

India
Today, the imaginary plane of the Cultural Adventures for Kids project has landed in the colorful, enchanting, and tradition-filled country of India!
Our workshop on India was an incredible experience, thanks to our amazing young volunteers and special guests. The kids immersed themselves in the vibrant culture of India through interactive activities, crafts, music, and more. They explored traditional customs, learned about famous landmarks, practiced yoga for relaxation, and enjoyed the lively rhythms of Indian dance.
A big thank you to our wonderful guests from India for helping us make this workshop so memorable and for the amazing costumes!

Brazil
Our workshop celebrating Brazil and its vibrant carnival culture was an unforgettable experience full of fun and excitement! A huge thank you to our dedicated young volunteers for organizing such an engaging and lively event.
The kids had a blast exploring Brazilian culture through games, colorful crafts, and delicious traditional treats! It was amazing to see their creativity and enthusiasm throughout the day.
A big shoutout to all our volunteers for making this event a huge success! We can't wait for the next adventure together!
Hawaii
Aloha! The imaginary plane of the Cultural Adventures for Kids project visited Hawaii to explore its vibrant culture and celebrate the summer!
What a fantastic day we had celebrating Hawaii! The kids immersed themselves in Hawaiian culture through fun crafts, limbo contests, and exciting games. They explored the beauty of the islands, learned about its history, and celebrated with music and laughter.
The workshop concluded with an exciting bingo game, summarizing all the new things learned during the day, with some fun surprises to top it off!
It was an amazing opportunity for the kids to experience a new culture while enjoying a colorful summer party, all thanks to the creative young volunteers and the European Solidarity Corps.

Ancient Greece and the Olympics
Our imaginary plane landed in Ancient Greece for an unforgettable Olympic adventure!
What an amazing experience we had during our Ancient Greece & Olympic Games workshop, especially after the excitement of this year's Summer Olympic Games!
The kids explored the fascinating history and culture of Ancient Greece, learned about the origins and traditions of the Olympic Games, and took part in Olympic and Paralympic-inspired activities that celebrated the spirit of inclusion and achievement. They even crafted their very own Olympic medals!
It was a day filled with creativity, learning, and fun, all inspired by the excitement of the Summer Olympics. A huge thank you to our volunteers for making this experience truly special.

Egypt
Our imaginary plane landed in Egypt for a thrilling journey through Ancient history!
What an incredible adventure we had at our Ancient Egypt workshop, made possible by our amazing young volunteers and the energetic kids in our target group!
The kids explored the fascinating history and culture of Ancient Egypt, learned about the pharaohs and the pyramids, and embarked on an exciting treasure hunt, solving clues and discovering hidden treasures. They even crafted their own Egyptian artifacts and hieroglyphic scrolls!
The workshop also included learning about the story of Moses and his time in Egypt, from the burning bush to the Exodus.
It was a day full of mystery, creativity, and fun, all inspired by the ancient wonders of Egypt. A huge thank you to our volunteers for guiding the treasure hunt and bringing the magic of Ancient Egypt to life.

China
Our imaginary plane landed in China for an exciting adventure full of discovery!
What an amazing time at our China workshop, thanks to our fantastic young volunteers and all the eager kids!
The kids explored the rich history and culture of China, learned about the fascinating Chinese horoscope and the 12 animal signs, and discovered some of the greatest inventions of Ancient China, such as paper, the compass, printing, and gunpowder. They also crafted their own beautiful Chinese lanterns and colorful dragons!
We also had the chance to test different types of Chinese tea, adding a flavorful touch to the day.
It was a day full of positive emotions, fun, and learning, all inspired by the amazing traditions and zodiacs of China. A big thank you to our volunteers for making this experience so special.

Christmas and New Year
Our imaginary plane landed in a Christmas & New Year Wonderland for the final and most exciting adventure of the Cultural Adventures for Kids project!
What an unforgettable time we had at our Christmas and New Year workshop, made possible by our amazing young volunteers and all the enthusiastic kids who joined us for this incredible adventure!
In this festive world, the kids explored joyful traditions and customs of Christmas and New Year, got creative making their own beautiful Christmas decorations, snow globes, and fireworks. They also tasted delicious traditional holiday treats and enjoyed a fun toast with kids' champagne.
The day was filled with excitement as the kids made exciting plans for 2025, sharing their hopes and dreams for the upcoming year and setting fun goals!
It was a day full of festive cheer, laughter, and learning, all inspired by the warmth and magic of the holiday season. A big thank you to our volunteers for making this experience so special.
Graduation
The Cultural Adventures for Kids project has officially come to a close, and what an incredible journey it has been!
We celebrated the graduation of all the amazing kids who took part in our workshops, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they've learned and achieved throughout this adventure. Each child received a participation certificate, recognizing their growth and accomplishments over the course of the project.
Together, we explored different cultures, created unforgettable memories, and shared laughs, new skills, and meaningful experiences. From crafting and learning to connecting with each other and the world around us, these young explorers truly made the most of this special journey!
A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers, whose guidance and inspiration were invaluable throughout this project. Your effort in preparing and delivering each unique workshop was essential to its success. Not only did you support the kids, but you also learned new skills and developed your own competencies, making this a true two-way learning experience. Your passion and commitment made this project unforgettable, and we are beyond grateful for all that you've contributed.
